چکیده

The existing industrial parts feeders move the parts through a sequence of mechanical lters that reject parts in unwanted orientations. In this paper we develop a new apparatus that uses a novel vibratory mechanism to systematically manipulate parts, by actively orienting and localizing them. These new automation designs promise great exibility, speed, and dexterity| we believe they may be employed to orient, singulate, sort, feed, and assemble parts. The idea is to generate and change dynamic modes for a plate by varying the applied frequency of oscillation. Depending on the node shapes of the plate for these frequencies, the position and orientation of the parts can be controlled. We develop an analysis of the underlying dynamics, and show that it can be used to predict the behavior of objects placed on the vibrating plate. Over time, the part may come to rest in a dynamic equilibrium state. By chaining together sequences of vector elds, the equilibrium states of a part in the eld may be cascaded to obtain a desired nal state. The resulting strategies require no sensing and enjoy eecient planning algorithms.

A New Approach to the Study of Transverse Vibrations of a Rectangular Plate Having a Circular Central Hole

In this study, the analysis of transverse vibrations of rectangular plate with circular central hole with different boundary conditions is studied and the natural frequencies and natural modes of a rectangular plate with circular hole have been obtained. To solve the problem, it is necessary to use both Cartesian and polar coordinate system. The complexity of the method is to apply an appropria...

Dynamic Instability Analysis of Transverse Vibrations of Functionally Graded Rectangular Plates under Moving Masses

In this paper, dynamic instability due to parametric and external resonances of moderately thick functionally graded rectangular plates, under successive moving masses, is examined. Plate mass per unit volume and Young’s modulus are assumed to vary continuously through the thickness of the plate and obey a power-law distribution of the volume fraction of the constituent. The considered rectangu...

Free vibrations analysis of a sandwich rectangular plate with electrorheological fluid core

In this paper, a rectangular sandwich plate with a constrained layer and an electrorheological (ER) fluid core is investigated. The rectangular plate is covered an ER fluid core and a constraining layer to improve the stability of the system. The two outer layers of the sandwich structure are elastic. The viscoelastic materials express the middle layer behavior under electric field and small st...
